Founder & History

Wendy, whose name means “friend,” is a bubbly and energetic business-woman currently working as a director at a shelter in Brampton for mothers and children who have fled gender-based violence.

She was the previous director of the Women’s Counsellor Centre, which supported women in the community who faced gender-based violence and needed counselling support.

She is a proficient speaker, teacher, and event planner. These experiences have been beneficial to her work and ministry life. She manages her career, ministry, business, and family life with wisdom and dedication, based on sound Biblical principles.

In 2013, Wendy launched her not-for-profit business, Bon Ami Community Services formerly known as Bon Ami Events. Bon Ami Events was a fully fledged organization reaching out to families in the community. The business’ main focus initially was to equip, empower, educate, and embrace girls and women who struggled in various areas of their lives.

However, in 2014, Wendy felt divinely guided to extend community services to children, men, and the family holistically.

In 2023, Bon Ami Events rebranded and became Bon Ami Community Services (BACS). The vision is to have more supports and programs available to children, youth, women, men, seniors, and families who struggle or want to feel more empowered within themselves.

She is not only a mentor for the community but also a devoted wife and mother. Wendy currently serves as the director of the Christian Education Ministry and member of the praise and worship team at her local church.

Wendy could not do this alone, she has a dedicated team that shares a similar vision of empowering and equipping individuals and families in self growth and development.

Wendy has a love for people and has answered the call to struggling children, youth, women, men, seniors, and families from all walks of life. It is Wendy’s prayer that individuals who come through the doors of Bon Ami Community Services' safe haven, will find healing, restoration, and above all find renewed purpose in the path that has been divinely laid out for them.
